Caraway

Caraway is an aromatic herbaceous plant of the Apiaceae family, characterized as an annual herb, about 60 centimeters high, possessing a very thin stem with a cavity, and feathery compound leaves. Small, longitudinal, containing a strong volatile oil, the caraway we use is nothing but these tiny seeds.

Medical Uses :

  • Gastrointestinal flatulence and gas, infant colic, heartburn especially in people with gastroesophageal reflux disease, colon and intestinal spasm, chronic constipation, intestinal worms.
  • Infections of the respiratory tract and bronchial tubes, cases of asthma, severe throat pain and hoarseness, and whooping cough.
  • Menstrual congestion for a woman in postpartum period, and to increase her milk supply.
  • Unpleasant and unpleasant odors in the mouth.
  • Lack of appetite.
  • Diabetes.
  • Overweight and obesity.
  • Fatigue and stress.
  • Joint and lower back pain.
  • Eye infections by applying compresses of soaked caraway seeds.
